Short Abstract: OTPs must understand the impact of childhood trauma and acquired childhood experiences (ACE) affecting clients’ health and wellness. This course reviews terminology, prevalence, ACEs, trauma-informed care principles, and ways to optimize intervention.

Learner Objectives:

  2. UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT OF TRAUMA PATHOPHYSIOLOGY AND EPIGENETICS

  4. UNDERSTAND YOUR ROLE IN IDENTIFICATION AND TREATMENT OF CHILDHOOD TRAUMA
  5. LEARN WAYS TO IMPLEMENT TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE FROM A TEAM PERSPECTIVE
