The 2024 TOTA Annual Conference Call for Proposals is closed. 
Submission deadline - Friday, 31st May, 2024 
Review deadline - Wednesday, 10th July, 2024 
Outcome notifications were sent Thursday, July 18.


Presentation of Credentials: 
We ask that all presenters who are licensed in Texas comply with §369.3 of the OT Rules and §454.007 of The OT Practice Act: 
Abbreviations such as OT/L, OTR/L, and LOT and OTA/L, COTA/L, and LOTA should not be used. 
As per §454.007, Use of Title of Doctor, of the OT Practice Act, “An occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant may not use the abbreviation “Dr.,” the word “Doctor,” or any suffix or affix indicating or implying that the person is a physician.” 

Note: The presentation of your credentials is subject to correction in the whova app and our publications.
Detailed Instructions

Important Information After Submission:

  1. The primary contact listed will be notified of the committee's decision via email in July 
    1. It is up to the primary contact to ensure that all listed presenters and authors are notified of the call for proposal status.
    2. Only the primary presenter will need to complete the contract.
    3. If accepted, no changes can be made to the proposal content.
  2. Presenter changes (changes to who will be presenting) can be made up until one month prior to the first day of the conference after which all information may be printed as it was submitted.
    1. Submit, in writing any change requests to help@tota.org.
    2. The deadline for change requests is October 15, 2024
  3. Your handouts should be uploaded into the Whova app.  Handouts should be available to the attendees by November 1, 2024, in the conference app. Save your handouts as a PDF file. 

  4. Pre-recorded On-Demand posters and educational sessions will need to be uploaded into the TOTA Google Drive by November 1, 2024. Further instructions will be provided by Eileen Garza through the Whova App.

Poster Size: Posters should be no larger than W48"xH36".

 

Room Set up
All rooms will be setup in theater style. If you move chairs they must be returned to their original position before your sessions ends. We cannot accommodate any request for tables or specific room setup unless you have a long course (3-4 hours) or a workshop (7 hours). All rooms will include the following: 

  • WIFI for speakers (you will be provided with the code) 
  • Podium or highboy table
  • Screen
  • Projector
  • Wireless microphone

Note: TOTA does not provide laptops, you will need to bring your own laptop. Presenter laptops should be up to date with the latest window updates and use laptops that can utilize HDMI ports. If the laptop needs an adaptor, the presenter must provide their adapters.
