TITLE:  Low Vision Tool Kit

DESCRIPTION:  Applies to practice interventions for OT services as they impact clients with low vision. Focus is on the environment and context.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the importance of light,magnification, contrast, glare and organization as it impacts someone with low vision
  2. Know how to adapt the environment fora low vision person using light, magnification, contrast,glare, and organization.

PRESENTERS: 
Kim Broussard is an occupational therapist with Brookdale Senior Living, a home health agency, since 2009. She earned her BA degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge, her MSW in Social Work from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge, her MOT in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University at Denton, and her OTD in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University at Dallas. Currently, Ms. Broussard is currently a PhD candidate in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University at Houston. Ms. Broussard has worked in occupational therapy since 1997 with adults and older adults. She has experience in long-term care, acute-care, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient, and home health. Her current research interests are in low vision, falls, and balance with older adults.
