Purpose of Professional Development Events
Professional development events, including presentations, webinars, and workshops serve as a growing resource center for occupational therapy practitioners and students who are seeking learning opportunities to advance and promote their careers.

Note: Professional Development events are considered “non-CE” events as they do not meet the TBOTE definition of continuing education (§367.1 in the OT Rules) however they are valuable learning experiences for advancing and promoting OT careers.

Submission Process
Event proposals are only accepted electronically through the TOTA website (click HERE to submit an application).

Submission includes the following:
o Title of Event
o Detailed Event Schedule (date, time, agenda, etc.)
o CV or Resume (BIO not accepted)
o Learner Objectives
o Short Event Description
o Application or Relevance to Occupational Therapy Profession
o At least two references (last 10 years) supporting the subject matter proposed (APA format)

Submissions must be complete. Submissions missing any documentation cannot be processed or approved.

Approval Process
• The primary presenter will receive an email confirmation once the submission has been received.
• Submissions are reviewed by TOTA personnel or an assigned volunteer. 
• The primary presenter will receive a notification from TOTA personnel whether the event has been approved, approved with revisions, or declined.
• The primary presenter of approved events will receive an email from TOTA personnel to schedule the event.
• Any questions related to the submission or approval process may be emailed to [email protected].
