Course Description - This presentation will highlight successful ways of implementing current evidence-based interventions to increase occupational engagement for persons with neurocognitive disorders, thus increasing their health and well-being.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the presentation, the learner will be able to:
- Describe at least 3 typical antecedents to behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD).
- Identify at least 3 current evidence-based interventions ideas for mitigating adverse behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.
- Describe at least 2 ways occupational therapy practitioners can promote occupational engagement for individuals with dementia to positively affect adverse behavioral and psychological symptoms.
