OT and PT Service Delivery in Schools: Policy, Research and Best Practices [1-day CONFERENCE]

Registration is CLOSED

This conference is designed to assist OT and PT school-based practitioners serving in Texas public schools with developing their knowledge base regarding service delivery for struggling learners. Planned sessions will alert attendees to the latest developments in federal and state education policy, including applicable case law. Information regarding documentation requirements and anticipated revisions to the Texas School Health and Related Services (SHARS) Medicaid program will be provided. Research-based practices for serving in inclusive educational environments as well as for service delivery using telehealth/telepractice methodologies will be shared. Strategies will be identified for dealing positively with stakeholder conflicts that arise as part of the ARD/IEP process.

As a result of attending this workshop, attendee will be able to:

1)     Articulate appropriate roles for occupational therapy and physical therapy practitioners in addressing dyslexia and mental health initiatives in Texas public schools;
2)     Describe 3 aspects of effective OT and/or PT documentation for meeting SHARS requirements to support students with disabilities in schools; and
