There has been a tremendous amount of work done on establishing processes, assessing the service we provide to our members, and working within a changing world to be sure we are serving the membership of TOTA. Position Statement: I am deeply committed and passionate about building a sense of community for the Capital Centex region and throughout the state to bring together occupational therapists to share experience, wisdom, trials, and tribulations so we can grow to understand ourselves, each other, healthcare, and how we can move the profession forward TOGETHER. I believe that our collective efforts and community can make great things happen in Texas for our profession and those that we serve. I would hope to support the vision and mission of TOTA and AOTA through my role as Vice Chair of the Capital Centex district.

Position Statement: I love being an OT! I uphold my professional ethics and values as a clinician and a manager. I know what it means lead and not direct. I work well with and on a team.
TOTA Involvement: GPWD Treasurer (2019-current, )GPWD Lunch & Learn CEU Presentation, "PDPM: What You Need to Know" (Oct 2019), Texas Occupational Therapy Emerging Leaders (TOTEL) Program (May 2016-Dec 2016) Position Statement: I have been an active member of TOTA’s GPW District and served as treasurer since April 2019. As district chair, I would like to help grow our membership and increase the value we provide to our members. Some ideas I have are to continue to offer relevant and engaging CEU’s, provide social / networking opportunities, and encourage active involvement by providing opportunities to serve. TOTA as a whole and our district, specifically, has lots of potential to improve upon the great leaders that have come before, and I would be honored and excited to be a part of this. Thank you for your votes!

TOTA Involvement: GCED Vice Chair (2022), GCED OTA Rep (2021) Position Statement: A part of being a responsible clinician is being a member of the organizations that support it and its consumers. I have enjoyed being involved in the GCED first as OTA Rep and currently as the newly appointed Vice Chair. As the association reinvents itself after COVID, I have a vision of more active community and constituent involvement in the association. I would like to assist with making TOTA an organization that local students and practitioners rely on meet the needs of clinicians and the individuals and groups that they serve.
TOTA Involvement: TOTA 2021 Conference volunteer Position Statement: Throughout my educational and professional tenure, I have been able to develop a variety of skills that make me a strong candidate for this position. These skills include but are not limited to, extensive leadership skills, excellent communications skills, brilliant organizational and problem-solving skills, patience, and extreme determination.
Position Statement: I am interested in being more active in TOTA. I have been a member for the past few years and I would like be more involved in aiding with providing the resources TOTA provides to not only OT's and COTA's, but the community. I would be the best candidate for this position as I have experience in holding offices in various community based organizations as well as experience in managing and supervising OT's and COTA's in the work setting. I am an advocate of the profession and have been so as an OT for the past 10 years here in Houston, TX.
TOTA Involvement: RGD Chair (2020-current), RGD Secretary (2017-2019) Position Statement: Since my involvement on the board I have been fortunate to serve along side devoted and passion individuals at both a district and state level. Last year, with the help of these individuals, our district hosted it's first OT/OTA student outreach event and currently have our second event schedule for April. Rio Grande also hosted two Backpack awareness events last year and have scheduled another community event this fall. I would be honored to have to opportunity to continue to work along side the other members of the board and help plan events like these to better our OT community.
Position Statement: I joined TOTA as soon as I transitioned off of active duty Army and started calling Texas home. I believe that TOTA has a special role to advance and enrich occupational therapy and serve both practitioners and students in the state. In my current role at UTEP, I regularly engage with occupational therapists and occupational therapy students, many who are current TOTA members. Given the opportunity, I would utilize my administrative and organizational skills along with my network to support and further TOTA in the Rio Grande District. Thank you!

TOTA Involvement: Presented at several TOTA conferences since 2016, TOTA Nomination committee member, Conference and CEU course reviewer. Position Statement: If nominated as the Trinity North Vice Chair, I feel that I could make a difference to assist occupational therapists, OT assistants, and students by supporting and representing the Trinity North region. I would like to bring my skills in leadership and work towards the vision of the organization. I feel that I demonstrate excellent leadership and decision-making skills with my experience as an occupational therapist and as an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Professor. I truly have a passion for OT and want to give back to the profession by being a volunteer OT leader.
Position Statement: I've been a member of TOTA for many years, but have not had the opportunity to hold a position. As a long-time provider I see many needs for leadership in our profession. As a long-time therapist, I see gaps that OT's can fill. Unfortunately OT schools just can not support ALL the learning we need for practice. Many OT's are leaving the field after 5 years, questioning their professional decision. One reason for this is that the practicing OT may not have found their niche or Identity in their profession. I would love to see TOTA build a system of CEUs that can best support new grads and younger professionals. As members of TOTA we can support the professionals in ways that don't cost "an arm and a leg." Whose limbs for our Occupational leadership!
