A 0.6 CEU's (6 contact hours) workshop.
Many adults experience chronic diseases or medical treatments, including surgeries that result in some type of discomfort including pain. Pain affects all aspects of the rehabilitation process. Through research mind-body based interventions for pain management have been found to be effective, low-cost, with no side effects, and appropriate for most clients in most settings.
In this workshop, you will:
Develop an understanding of how theories of pain have evolved over time
Learn how this evolution has influenced approaches to pain management
Learn how to apply and integrate evidence-based mind-body interventions for long-lasting pain management
Therapists will learn through demonstration, lecture, and guided lab time.
