| Course Description: |
This workshop will offer a hands-on approach to assessment tools and low vision devices commonly utilized in low vision rehabilitation. The occupational therapist will learn about the causes of low vision, the low vision rehabilitation process, the difference between a regular eye exam and a comprehensive low vision functional eye exam, and the roles of the low vision optometrist and occupational therapist in low vision rehabilitation. |
| Objectives: |
At the end of this workshop, the occupational therapist will be able to:
• Identify the leading causes of low vision.
• Identify roles of the low vision optometrist and the occupational therapist in low vision rehabilitation.
• Identify the components of a low vision functional eye exam compared to a regular eye exam
• Identify and utilize occupational therapy evaluation assessments.
• Identify and utilize occupational therapy low vision interventions. |
